1. if your company pays for everything, why such reluctance to put up a few more dollars for your own cause? think of those that pay for everything themselves and still contribute.
2. each contribution to paypal costs, they take a chunk off it. making small 10 buck contribution is really not the intelligent way to go.
3. there used to be a 20/mnth recurring contribution. now it does no exist. what do you want? should we throw out the original 20 buck guys? of course they can continue doing it. i can't imagine why it would put you off? btw we did not really lose any money by going to a minimum of 50- you know why? those who were serious still contributed. others who were whining at that time (why is there not a 10/mnth option) were in many (though not all) cases not going to contribute anyway. this is just fyi.
4. what is 50 bucks a month? step back and think sometime. a family meal/movie? do you indulge yourself occasionally worth 50 bucks?

you have the choice hereof donating 100 now and considering it as two 50 buck donations, so your next one will be delayed. there are various ways of looking at this.

I don't see it either. If this is to be trusted, how come 485 dates moved only by 3 days for NSC? It was July 11th 2007 for the month of April

I have got renewed my NJ license while my H1 extension was pending. I did it at eatontown location. They asked for original receipt notice. Trenton location also does it. Probably there should be a location in north jersey which accepts the original receipt notice.

USCIS just seems to be changing rules according to their whims and fancies. They are changing rules according to their convenience. What do these idiots think of themselves? One cannot plan on anything when we are dealing with USCIS. What's good today may not be good tomorrow. Do they expect us to be stuck in the backlogs and wait for years together for them to take their own sweet time to process applications? May be a case of job security for these lazy staff.

So, if there are 400k pending applications and recapture can get us 215K, has anyone done some analysis on how the 215k will be divided among countries and categories?

I don't think any analysis is done. That is only going to divide the community.
Some would say preference be given to EB category benefiting EB2(I&C).
Some would say PD should be given preference predominantly benefiting EB3(I).
If they follow the current spill-over rules, as you are aware, EB category would be given preference.

Styrum: Why did you file an appeal on your first perm and why are you planning to file another appeal? Maybe I am not understanding something here. was your first LC denied? (on what ground?) why your second LC denied?? Please explain. it seems that we are on the same boat but my appeal have been there longer (now over 6 months)

Expectation is itself on July 2nd courier based Apps were around 20000+ but ofcourse after 2nd the no. of applications significantly reduced hope for the best

Zen, the point is very simple. If you believe in this organization and what it does then you will donate knowing that IV needs the money to lobby for you, me and everyone else who is part of the community.
Lobbying is a very sensitive issue and it is not always possible for the persons involved to give you daily updates. Rather disclosing too much before time can have the opposite effect with people interested in lobbying against our interest mobilizing more aggressively.
Also bills are introduced all the time and there is not always enough time to hold funding drives to lobby for and against those bills. Moreover lobbying with the congress and senate is an on going effort and will require resources anyways.
However if you feel you want to be in the thick of things and know everything that is going on, then I guess joining your state chapter and being an active member can help you get some additional info. I believe volunteering your time is a lot more useful for the community than only money and if you can do that, all the power to you. I for one try and make my contributions to help those guys who are taking the pains to do all the work which benefits all of us

Um... ROW has been retrogressed for some time too (at least EB3), so there is no need to "wait for it to get affected" - wait for that to become current before significant change in other areas of chargeability. But I've been waiting for that for years too.

As you may know, AC21 is not exactly a rule but is a guideline to the adjudicators in the form of some memos. As far as I know there are at least two or three memos addressing various issues concerning AC21. These are: William Yates Memo Dated August 04, 2003 and Michael Aytes Memo Dated December 27, 2005. You might get them by googling for those (could be in some threads or blogs on IV itself). In addition to these we also had all the documents that we sent to the USCIS as well (AC21 letter, copies of I140, old job and new job description). Yes its kind of too many documents to carry (and some might see that as a over cautious) - but after the last episode we are inclined to carry them along every time we go out of the country.
