Yes you are right. We need patience till you get your GC...I know its hard but there is no other way but swallow that pride. Its very hard to do that..speaking of which this anti-indian guy who sits next to me at work was making life horrible for few weeks. Things are sorted out now... I have a great Manager.

All I can say is that everyone has their personal reasons for the decisions they make. This thread is information exchange thread for those who are looking to move to Canada. This isn't about why one should go one place vs another.
I welcome you to start another thread where ppl can debate whether they should move to India or consider moving elsewhere. In fact, I will be happy to discuss the options there. But I request ppl to not divert the focus of this thread.

This happened in DC's large Dulles Intl airport.
I have noticed that most "overzealous" CBP officials are found in smaller airports. Large airports like JFK, DC, Miami, SFO etc have efficient and effective CBP officials - they are really busy doing their jobs and don't have time to overdo their job.
A majority of CBP officers in airports are polite and thorough.

Anyone got their AP renewal approved? How long it is taking these days?
I applied for EAD and AP renewals concurrently on May 28th and sent following support docs for AP.
1. 2 photos.
2. old AP copy
3. I-485 copy
4. Passport biometric pages
5. EAD copy
FP appnt on June 23rd.
AP Approved e-mail on June 23rd.
My wife's Receipt was just 10 nos difference but she hasn't got it yet.

Attorney said that they have represented Employer also along with the employee and hence they need an authorization from Employer in order to answer any questions or to do any thing with my pending I-485.
Either this is not an honest statement (or an excuse for not working on the case if you already paid him/her), or the lawyer is not competent. You are better off with a new lawyer. Simply contact another good lawyer. S/he will file a G-28 form.

does this mean that i cannot get a 3 yr extension based on approved I-140 pp? My labor is not pending for 365 days and so I am solely depending on I-140 approval for a 3 yr extension. I am filing i-140 and i-485 concurrently before July 5...will this give me an EAD option even if 140 takes longer to get approved?
This only applies to pending or new 140s; if you have a approved 140 it does not affect you.
One could get a 3 year extension on the basis of a approved 140 only if the PD is not current; since the PD will be current starting July, you'll get only a 1 year extension.

I used the provisions of AC21 and changed jobs in early 2005. FOIA requests will work for your I-140. I-140 is filed by the employer on your behalf and is therefore your paperwork.
It took approximately two and half months to come through.

I just called all of them, including the not favoring congressman/women (cm/cw)
to those not favoring, I told I understand the cm/cw does not support the bill HR5882, but I would like to share few points that might help him/her reconsider their decision.
I then told about us not taking away any jobs since we already been employed for several years, and the bill if not approved we'll still continue to be employed in our current status. But on the positive side, if the bill is approved we'll greatly benefit the economy esp. the housing industry since several hundreds of applicants are ready to buy their house. and about us having paid taxes, and being a great consumer, etc.
and then I told I would really like the cm/cw to reconsider her/his decision and to support the bill which is up for markup today.

I called one cm's office, after going thru all the talking points, he told me that the cm already supports the bill. I then said sorry, and asked him to convey my thanks to the cm. I don't remember who that was 'coz I was really in a hurry to call of them in the short break I took at work.
