It looks to me they ARE basically killing server...
From what I see they are migrating the server features they've built in the past into an optional module for the base OS. (like Ubuntu vs Ubuntu Server, server is just additional software.)

According to US law, a trademark holder MUST defend their trademarks, or they risk losing them. Google is struggling with this, as they're trying to encourage people not to use it as a generic verb.

Ooo, I'm gonna be first. I took this during the Fernbank Museum (in Atlanta) visit that I'm posting my mythical creatures photos. I was rather self conscious taking this photo, and I wanted to make sure I was not seen doing it. When I saw this scene I was struck by more than one contrast going on. The one I didn't include was with the kids that were also with the couple, but I didn't feel comfortable getting a shot with the kids, too.

Very interesting shot to look at. There is a lot going on but it makes you want to look. I'd agree with maybe cropping some off the top.

Ugh, outlook syncing to Exchange 2010 is still slow. Emails hit my iPhone instantly, as well as Outlook 2010. As for the Outlook it takes up to 30 seconds. Maybe they need to improve EWS???

Well, I can get 22% off a Verizon plan, that sort of thing might matter. Although, I don't want a 3G iPad, so....no matter to me.
* Also, crap DNS speed really throws many people for surfing, anyway. The internet's dirty little secret. I wonder how many millions don't realize they could be faster by typing a couple digits into setup.

This is a great widget, and itself justifies the upgrade to Tiger! BTW, I believe you can update any widget by selecting it, and then hitting command-R (just FYI for the summary in the first post).

So if the ULV HD3000 performs at 50% of MBP 13", and if IB speeds up the HD 3000 by 50% this will mean MBA IB HD 3000 will run @75% of the speed of 2011 MBP 13". So, I am actually quite right unless Intel develops a new IGP there is a thick chance people will bash on IB MBA, too.
I agree with you bump in processor speed won't be the key point to entice people to buy a SB MBA - there should be something more, either larger SSD storage for the same amount of money, or connectivity (TB) or better display, or better battery, or all of them. The lack of physical keyboard and the fact that is runs on a phone OS really makes the iPad useless for school purpose. I just can see anybody writing long essays on a screen (thumb input) keyboard. Having a real OS takes advantage of already developed software (and stable) and there are tons of them out there for every needs. Whereas an iPad software still needs to be developed. Other things like web research while writing notes can not be done on an iPad. All of these issues a laptop already solves and much more. Any new function an iPad have can easily be created on a laptop.
Frankly, an iPad is only good for is viewing media and even at that its pretty bad. Imagine holding an iPad upright to watch a two hour movie.

Computers and phones isn't the same thing. I could see them doing it with the iPad since its a computer but I honestly can't see them doing it with the iPhone. Might they change the size of the screen for the next iPhone? Yes. Will they sell two models with different screen sizes? No.
I think that apple's past success in expanding their ranges, specifically with iPods, has been their ability to market different models slightly differently. Look at the ipod mini, essentially the same as the original iPod, only smaller, but marketed as a cool new apple product in different colours that is more affordable. I don't see any reason why this strategy cannot be applied to phones. They wouldn't really have to do very much at all for this to work apart from make a good quality product. New apple product = hype = sales. I think that this is more true now than it ever has been.

YES this connector has USB3, it also has USB2, Thunderbolt and a pretty white cable too.
What people fail to realise is that if you own a current gen/future Mac you can use the thunderbolt part of the connection, if you own an older version then it will use the USB2 part. OR if you are using a USB3 compatible PC then you can use their USB3 connection.
Its actually a quite clever design and means that the iProducts 30pin connector can be relevant for many more years to come.

My only gripe that in in a normal year you need to sell 170,000-250,000 records to get Christmas number one, the X-factor single has already passed this mark so unfortunately it looks like more people have been buying it to prevent Rage winning. So Cowell wins either way, no such thing as bad publicity.
Incidentally, I'm not savvy with reality TV (I prefer reality) or FaceSpace Books, I heard Zane Lowe play the song about a week ago and thought, what a classic, I haven't heard that for years and went out and downloaded it. I don't agree with the people saying it's not a good song, in 1992 Tom Morello's guitar playing was groundbreaking and the lyrics ideally suit this chart battle.
But to paraphrase another Rage song, you can't rebel by buying something.

No way in hell. They've already asked their developers to change app resolutions once. 3 screen sizes will never fly with developers.
