I don't buy it; Apple offers the Apple TV for $99 which provides AirPlay. I don't think they'll license out the software; Apple has too many negative experiences with licensing out software... :cool:
How many AppleTV's were sold last year? How many TV's? How many DVD players? How many AV Receivers?
If AirPlay were implemented on 50% of the TV's being sold and 50% of the AV receivers, 50% of the DVD players, Sony PlayStation, and Nintendo Wii then even at only $4 per device they could end up making more money than they do with AppleTV and in the end make the living room "simpler" for their customers. They would also boost potential sales and rentals of video from the iTunes store.
Just look at the proliferation of Netflix streaming enabled devices on the market today, there is a lot of money to be made here even if it does end up killing the AppleTV.

Robbieduncan is correct. The only reason the EF-S exists is because it's cheaper for Canon to make wide angle lenses with a short focus back (i.e. that the lens is closer to the mirror than EF lenses). It's purely consumer oriented! Lower-end - mid range cameras use the 1.6 FOVCF, making them inexpensive. Canon wants cheaper lenses so they can sell more lenses and cameras. That's it, plain and simple. They are technically identical to any EF lens in every other way but the mount depth.

Whats this feature for? I don't know if it was in SL Server but its part of the mail settings and don't know if its for certification or for using apple's mobile me mail service for pushing mail to iOS devices.

Hmm, maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong perspective though, why don't you think it's clear?
Because most Apple products have hardware AND software so you might not know where to look for your specific issue/for the information you want.
For example if I was looking up information on the iPod Touch, there will be information on the hardware and information on the software, but they will be in different places.

I agree with fcortese: I really like the picture, but would love it if there was more space to the right, where the horse is looking. Could you crop the left and top a bit? I think that would make it more powerful. IMHO, Rule of Thirds would turn this good shot into a great shot.

I'm still trying to decide if I love it or hate it! It's beautiful, yet ugly ... all at once. I definitely see all 4 elements -- another nice contrast. I think it would have done well in the surreal contest we just had.

Well, no, you will not. You are not using the FULL image circle on the EF lens on the 60D. Take that same EF 17-40 and put it on a 5D and your image will be composed differently. NOTE: the Lens has not changed it's focal length, but your image HAS changed.
The common misconception is that your field of view is what the CAMERA records. In actuality, it is what the LENS TRANSMITS to the camera. Since your 1.6 crop camera does not utilize the FULL lens image circle on an EF lens, it has the effect of zooming the transmitted image. SO your 17mm is not 17mm on a crop camera, it is the equivalent of a 27.2mm (28mm) EF-S lens. 17 x 1.6 = 27.2. On a 1D camera, that same 17mm is the equivalent of 22.1mm, where a 5D as a FULL FRAME camera is using the full image circle from the EF lens, so it is a true 17mm.

Talk about some analysist making a fool of himself. T-Mobile's 3G is NOT compatible with any iPhone. They use 1700Mhz for the uplink, 2100Mhz for the downlink which the iPhone 3G/3GS/4 can't do. It's called AWS band, or UMTS band IV. In europe 2100Mhz is used for both uplink and dowlink, it's UMTS band I.
At most what you'll get on T-Mobile with the iPhones is regular EDGE on 1900Mhz.

I'm trying to learn SQL and want to set up a very simple database on my computer to run SQL statements(create tables, run queries, etc..). I've downloaded querious, razorSQL, but can figure out how to set them up. Hostname, port, etc...
Isn't there a simple environment to do something like this. I've tried several tutorials on setting up mysql from the terminal but never got that to work either.

What changes is the field of view, which is an angle. It is this angle which is different on the above-mentioned cameras. The reason why people write something to the effect `a 50 mm lens on a crop body is equivalent to 75~80 mm lens on a full frame body' is that we've gotten used to associating focal lengths on 35 mm bodies to FOVs. Sort of like Americans got used to measuring distances in miles rather than kilometers.

Not necessarily. You could reformat the cards using HFS+ and use it on any device that can read HFS+. The trouble is, that likely wouldn't include any device using the SDXC standard.

Oh my, what a conundrum for the fan boys. On one hand, CR loves the iPad and Apple's customer service but on the other hand, we have the iPhone 4. :D
I don't know if I qualify as a "fan boy" or not... I love technology, Apple just happens to have been the leader for a long time. Anyway, I'm not a fan of CR's criteria regardless of what they recommend. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I think peecees are a great value if, you aren't using pci cards and you build your own but I just got the new dual 867 and it rocks! If your doing video you should check out final cut pro on OSX.2 Very solid and very fast!
I adimit I don't have the very newest pc with the newest apps but the reason the Mac is now an even better deal is the very real speed of the new Machines,the new OS, and the Included apps are very good. Final cut does not exist for the Pc, its nearest competitor, from avid is about $700 more and not as good,so if you factor in everything,the New Macs are the best values in a long time. It will be interesting to see what happens on both sides next year:D

hope it's on the A380. that would be awesome! I agree, ipod video abuse will go pretty far though, as far as pornography goes.
