Don't quote me on this, but I am somewhat sure the apps are backed up if you had been syncing your iPod with your computer. Can someone confirm this?

Can't believe aperture doesn't support more RAW types yet.
Until it supports more/all of the raw types, it will never be a real 'pro' application imho

I had general anesthesia once, when I had my wisdom teeth out.
I passed out while they were putting in the IV - I was a little nervous, but I didn't feel too nervous until all the sudden I was on my back with the nurse calling my name. Then I was a bit embarrassed. (My mother is an RN in that very OR, so the doctor and staff were all hand picked by her, as a favor. She teased me about how I gave them all a fright by passing out, since they knew my mother would flip if anything untoward happened).
When they actually had me in the OR the doctor said, "OK, I'm going to give you the anesthesia now". I felt an ever so slight burning in my arm, and thought "Hmm, I wonder how long it will ta----". Out. Then I woke up in the recovery room. I was a little out of it, I certainly couldn't drive or anything.
I'm Catholic, but I imagine that if you don't believe in an afterlife dying is just like getting anaestesia; boom, you're out, that's it.

What? That isn't even remotely how pipelines work. The problem with large pipelines with many stages is when there is a miss in branch prediction. At that point everything already in the pipeline is wasted. Branch prediction failure is a very very bad thing. Fortunately both AMD and Intel have gotten really good at it as they have ramped up the stages. This can also be mitigated some with damn good compilers (of which Intel is good at making, but no one really uses).
Macs are awesome integrated platforms. However the G4 CPU is now an old dog.

Or how about the lack of pictures? This had photo op written all over it, but we the taxpayer only get one picture? I think the number of pictures were limited due to Steve Jobs current condition.
i like that quote "but we the taxpayer only get one"? :p

My buddy posted this (http://noeruiz.com/white-iphone-4-not-thicker/), and I tried to tell Engadget -- they wouldn't hear it.
Kind of ridiculous.
It is amusing, because it was clear from the first photograph claiming a thickness difference was taken on an angle that simply made the white iPhone look thicker.
Was pretty clear that was all it was. Firs thing I thought is why did they not take the photo head on and level like your friend did.
It's clear that some iPhone 4s are thicker. (see engadget photo)
arn
That new engadget picture with a piece of glass and some spacer in it is not evidence of different thicknesses. it involves so many different pieces of materials it is not something that should be considered accurate.
Why can't engadget afford actual calipers. They can't be that expensive.
As for the TiPB pictures, I have been staring at them for the last few minutes, and I can't even determine if they know how to use the calipers or what measurments they are comparing to each other.

Certainly if you are willing to wait that long then MWSF might be very likely for an update. It all depends on how soon that you want to get a new Mac.

LMAO, is this a joke?? Has to be the dumbest thing I've read this month by a supposed adult.
1) If he is an adult, as you claim, the least you could do is watch your tone and be respectful.
2) I understand it perfectly fine. Just because you're not intellectually capable of understanding his point doesn't mean it's dumb. Quit being ignorant.

Word is far more productive for most people IMO because Pages just isn't a word processor. I haven't used Pages all that much and I don't own it so I suppose I can't really complain about it too much but when I have dabbled with it, it's come across as a little over-simplified. It might just be because I'm used to Office apps which are admittedly pretty bloated but nevertheless, Pages just gives the impression of being underdone and kind of useless for most people.
I fail to see how it "just isn't a word processor?" I'm fairly amazed at the amount of negative responses this program has received, especially after Apple set the example with Keynote 1 and the glorious reception of version 2.
Pages is a godsend for me. I'm not sure what you people are smoking but writing is not about buttons, formatting, and margins. At the heart of writing is simplicity, I believe, and it seems a lot of people become troubled and even distraught at the apparent lack of "function." Sounds a lot like the first impressions PC users get of Macs...
Writing is a craft like art. You don't hear graphic artists complain about their palettes! I'll never understand why people want toolbars; confusing, myopic icons that march on in an endless, tyrannical parade across your screen. I despise nothing more than looking for what I'm trying to do in Word. Is it hidden behind this arrow? Maybe if I right-click? Alas.
Perhaps, then, Pages is for a different kind of writer. I write a lot of poetry and fiction, personally, and the less distraction I have on my screen the better. There are times I simply cannot interact with Word on a creative level, unless I close every window and button... so I might as well be using TextEdit.
I also fail to see how Word on the Mac is any different, or better, than Word on the PC. It looks prettier and has the same ****** GUI. What of it?
Word's only saving grace is its AutoSave if you ask me.

Hello everyone. I am making a highlight tape for my buddy. He gave me dvds from every game he played in last year. For me to get the dvd onto my computer I either use dvd remaster or handbrake to get it to a quicktime file..
My question is is there anyway that I can just rip like 30 second segments instead of the entire dvd to space some space. Ideally into a .mov. I would like to just put the timecode in and it rips that certain time.. Example : 1:05:07-1:06:23
Thanks

I'll take my own definition over Apple's or yours. Seriously, the phone is damn good looking, but you'll take Apple's opinion over your on?
